10. ENVIRONMENTAL LAW

The Law No. 64-2000 dated august 18, 2000, regulates all environment and natural issues. The Minister of Environment and Natural Recourses is in charge of all authorizations and permissions to install industries or business that may affect the environment. The Law established the mechanisms to regulate any sustainable damage of the natural resources in the country and elaborates the regulations to prevent any damages to the atmosphere, the land or the water supplies under the concept that “who contaminates must pay”.
